ARAI plays music from the movie The Last Emperor, composed by SAKAMOTO Ryu-ichi.
A T-shirt featuring a hybrid image of MAO Zedong and Marilyn Monroe, made by SANMAO 三毛, a performance artist and a friend of ARAI, is hung on the wall.
ARAI puts a portrait of PU Yi on the wall with big nails.
PU Yi was the last Emperor of China and, on 1 March 1932, was also made the first and last Emperor of Manchukuo by Japan.
ARAI plays the sound of Tibetan Buddhist monks chanting.
ARAI shows a portrait of the 11th Panchen Lama, officially recognized by the Chinese government.
ARAI also puts this portrait on the wall with big nails.
An assistant reads, in Chinese, a statement by MAO Zedong concerning China’s invasion of Tibet in March 1959.
ARAI throws his whole body down on the ground in the style of Tibetan Buddhist prostration.
At the same time, ARAI plays a recording of the former Emperor, HIROHITO, the 0G Emperor, announcing Japan’s defeat on 15 August 1945.
ARAI writes the history of the Emperors of Japan after World War II on the wall.
0G Emperor means HIROHITO.
1G Emperor means AKIHITO, the first Emperor under the postwar Constitution of Japan.
I call him the 1G Emperor because he is the first Emperor under the new system after World War II.
It also sounds a little like generations of mobile phones:
0G, 1G, 2G, 3G, 5G……
ARAI puts a portrait of Kiko over his face.
ARAI puts the portrait of Kiko into his mouth again and again.

About Kiko
Kiko is the wife of the younger brother of the Crown Prince, that is, the younger brother of the 2G Emperor.
She gave birth to a boy on 4 September 2006.
For the 1G Emperor, this boy is his first male grandchild.
The 2G Emperor has no son, only one daughter.
His wife, Masako, is already considered too old to have another child.
Under Japan’s Imperial House Law, a woman cannot become Emperor.
Therefore, Kiko will become the mother of the future 3G Emperor.
Before the 1G Emperor, there was no such problem.
In those days, Emperors and Princes could have several wives.
The 0G Emperor, HIROHITO, could also have done so, but he did not.
The 1G Emperor, the 2G Emperor, and his younger brother did not marry women from royal or imperial families.
In fact, the 1G Emperor married a so-called commoner, Michiko.
Michiko was the daughter of SHODA Eizaburo, who was president of Nisshin Flour Milling Company.
Masako, the wife of the 2G Emperor, had a maternal grandfather, EGASHIRA Yutaka, who was president and chairman of Chisso, the company responsible for the industrial pollution that caused Minamata disease.

ARAIは、坂本龍一が作曲した映画『ラ
ストエンペラー』
パフォーマンス・アーティストであり、
ARAIは、巨大な釘で溥儀の肖像を壁に打ち付 ける。
溥儀は中国最後の皇帝であり、1932年3月1
日、
ARAIは、チベット仏教僧たちが唱える読経の 音を流す。
ARAIは、中国政府が公式に認定している第
11代パンチェン・
ARAIは、その肖像も巨大な釘で壁に打ち付け る。
アシスタントが、
ARAIは、チベット仏教の五体投地のように、
同時に、ARAIは元天皇・裕仁、
ARAIは、
0G天皇とは裕仁のことである。
1G天皇とは明仁、
私は彼を1G天皇と呼ぶ。なぜなら、
これは、携帯電話の世代にも少し似ている。
0G、1G、2G、3G、5G……
ARAIは、紀子の肖像を自分の顔にかぶせる。
ARAIは、紀子の肖像を何度も自分の口の中に 入れる。

紀子について
紀子は、皇太子の弟、つまり2G天皇の弟の妻で ある。
彼女は2006年9月4日に男の子を出産した。
1G天皇にとって、この男の子は初めての男の孫 である。
2G天皇には息子がおらず、娘が一人いるだけで ある。
その妻、雅子は、
日本の皇室典範では、女性は天皇になることがで きない。
したがって、紀子は将来の3G天皇の母になる。
1G天皇以前には、このような問題はなかった。
当時、天皇や皇太子は複数の妻を持つことができ た。
0G天皇、裕仁もそうすることができたが、彼は そうしなかった。
